Reality soap fans have been anticipating Real Housewives of Toronto for a while now. It debuts Tuesday night (10 p.m. on Slice) after previous attempts to create a version set here of the successful series fizzled out.
But now that the latest stab at a RHOT series has arrived, will the second Housewives series to take place in Canada have more staying power than the one before it? The Real Housewives of Vancouver did not last past two seasons. But you only needed to watch it to understand why: Compared to our American counterparts, Canadians are inherently quieter and well-behaved. Even non-viewers know that’s not how a Housewives franchise operates.
So will RHOT prove Canadians can be just as meme-worthy and cray cray?
